AI Scams
Deepfake calls, cloned voices and AI generated content used to trick victims into paying.
AI Scams
AI scams use generative technology, cloned voices, deepfake video and highly convincing written messages to impersonate someone the victim knows or trusts. A short recording of a person's voice can be enough to recreate it convincingly, and a handful of photographs can produce a fake video call that appears to show a relative, colleague or manager asking for urgent help or an urgent payment.
Warning signs include an unexpected video or voice call from someone asking for money and urging secrecy, a message that references personal details accurately but arrives through an unusual channel, investment opportunities promoted through video of a public figure who has not actually endorsed them, and pressure not to verify the request through a second, independent channel. Profile photos on dating or social platforms that look slightly unnatural around the background, hands or jewellery can also indicate an AI generated identity.
Investigation, tracing, and full legal representation
Because AI enabled fraud often leaves a different kind of trail, our investigators move quickly to capture and preserve digital evidence, including recordings, message threads and metadata, before it can be altered or deleted. We then trace how any payment moved through banks, payment processors or cryptocurrency platforms to identify who ultimately received it.
These schemes are frequently coordinated across multiple countries, and we work with Interpol and local law enforcement where cross border cooperation is needed to identify those responsible. We file the case with the relevant institutions and authorities and represent our clients through to resolution, whether that means negotiation, formal complaint or litigation.
