Trading Scams
Fraudulent trading platforms lure investors with fake profits, then block withdrawals and demand fees.
Trading Scams
Trading scams typically begin with an unsolicited approach, a slick website, or a social media advert promising extraordinary returns from stock, commodity, or contract for difference trading. Victims are guided by a persuasive account manager who encourages an initial deposit, shows a small early profit to build confidence, then pushes for larger and larger sums, often through leverage the investor does not fully understand.
Once a victim tries to withdraw funds, the platform stalls. New taxes, release fees, or verification deposits appear out of nowhere, and the account manager becomes harder to reach or disappears entirely. Common warning signs include guaranteed or risk free return promises, pressure to act quickly, a broker with no verifiable trading history, frequent changes of account manager, and requests to install remote access software on your computer.
Investigation, tracing, and full legal representation
Duarte & Finch's private investigations team examines the broker's structure, the money trail, and the individuals behind the operation, building a factual record of how the scheme was run and where the funds moved. Where the fraud spans multiple countries, which is common with trading scams operated from offshore call centres, we coordinate with Interpol and local law enforcement to support tracing and, where appropriate, criminal referral alongside the civil case.
Once the picture is clear, we file the case, pursue the parties and intermediaries who received your money, and represent you through negotiation, settlement, or litigation until the matter is resolved.
